Mabel’s Labels Product Review

Posted by JB on Thursday Jun 18, 2009

When my son started preschool last September, I quickly became aware of how easily he misplaced his possessions, and how hard it was to find them again: all the other four-year-olds in the class seemed to have the same things.

He ended up with someone else’s sweater on several times, and twice he brought home his classmates’ Speed McQueen backpack instead of his own. His running shoes were placed under a sign on the notice board in the lobby that said “Whose are these?”, and his favourite toy car was missing for weeks because the teacher didn’t know that it was his.

Being someone who likes to solve problems right away, I began to research ways to label his things and end the confusion. It look no time at all to find Mabel’s Labels, a site dedicated to labeling everything from pencil cases to rubber boots. They have a vast array of fun and functional labels that no kid (or mom!) should be without. Small ones, skinny ones, some designed for clothing, others designed for toys or household items.

My favourite are the Skinny Minis, which you can customize with your child’s name. They seem to be able to stick on anything – plastic spoons, rubber containers, lunch bags, and pretty much anything else my son will ever need to take to school.

Since her big brother had some, his little sister wanted her own to stick on her doll’s hair brush, her sippy cup, and eve her hula-hoop. Mabel’s Labels are great for everyday items: microwave and dishwasher safe, and also UV resistant.

Thanks to their great selection and unlimited customizing, I now have the labeling bug. I love that they have combo packs for camping, crafting, and organizing. They put a lot of thought into each and every package so nothing will ever go unlabeled.

Now when my son is leaving school, I easily see his name on all of his things. I even have gone so far as to attaching their Bag Tags to his hockey and swimming bags, his backpack, and the overnight suitcase he takes to his Grandma’s. Since he has learned to read and write his name, he loves seeing it on the colourful labels on all of his favourite things, and I love that each and every label from Mabel’s has made my life a whole lot easier.

Standing on my Soapbox,

JB

I discovered Mabels Labels awhile back when a friend was promoting them for a fundraiser. I ordered labels with just our last name on them so I could use them on all our kids things. They work great!!
