ID on ME Product Review
Posted by JB on Thursday Sep 25, 2008This is one product I am really jazzed about. The ID On Me personal identification bracelet is one of those items every parent and child is going to love.
This summer I took my son to the fair. On that hot summer day, the place was packed with parents, kids, teens and tourists. Reining in my three year old as he ran to the twirrly-wirrly or budged in line for the super slide raised my anxiety level every time he was more than a few feet from me or out of sight. Not unlike many parents, I spent a lot of time calling him to come back, or holding his hand as he tried to wiggle free. Normally, my son listens well, and in most situations like the grocery store or park, he sticks close to me and I can see him unobstructed. This was one time I was fearful of losing him and worried we might get separated.
Thankfully, I found this super hip and ultra cool ID bracelet that any kid would be happy to wear, and any parent reassured to have. Its unique design is so unlike any other identification device on the market today. It looks more like a watch, sports accessory or funky gadget than a practical tool used in the event of a child becoming lost or needing medical assistance. In fact I wore it for the first few days after it arrived, before my son noticed its cool design and secret, water-resistant compartment. Inside there is a folded paper insert, where you can record all your important information and contact numbers.
Each ID on Me has an adjustable wrist band, and included 4 Tyveck® inserts to fill out. They weigh less than ¼ oz and come in a variety of trendy colors. For those children with allergies, the coolness continues with a medical alert option. Either can be worn on the wrist or easily attached to the shoelace to be worn at all times. Their motto is, “Vital information always on hand.”
Mompreneur Marie Fishman, designed this product with her two sons in mind and certainly knew what she was doing. It hits the mark and we at Soapbox think it rocks. What a fabulous idea! I like the black and white one. I love how they are pretty enough for girls yet would look fine on a boy. With 4 kids, these would be a lifesaver since its hard to keep an eye on all 4 of them at once especially in crowded places like the mall.
