Bobs and Lolos Product Review
Posted by JB on Saturday Feb 7, 2009Nothing gets my kids moving more than a bit of music. From making breakfast, to traveling in the car, to having a bath and everything in-between, music is a great way to put some shake in your boots and spring in your step. I love popping in a CD and setting the mood with some fun and funky tunes that my kids and I can spontaneously dance to.
One of the all time favorites in this house in the music of duo sensation Bobs and Lolo. Two women with diverse backgrounds in teaching, linguistics, kinesiology and a love for the environment. Both have come together to make music; not just playful songs but thought-out lyrics but about us and our world. With titles like Recycle with Me, Snappy Snacks and The Right Track, these are songs that motivate and inspire kids.
I have to admit I was a bit of a Negative Nelly at first. ‘How great could they be?’, I thought, as my friends continued to recommend them. Getting a CD as a gift has been the best gift of all. My fifteen month old is in love, picking up the CD and pointing to it and then herself, repeatedly asking to listen to it. My son is always fast-forwarding to his favorite songs, jumping up to bust a groove just like the singers do. We have now have bought their fantastic and celebrated DVD “On Your Feet”, a complete extension of their beautiful songs in full visual magic.
It is hard to explain the magnitude of their songs and maybe just humming the tune myself when no one is listening or the full-out jive I am prompted into when a hot beat comes on, is evidence enough that not only are their songs fun for the kids, but mom and dad can enjoy them too. Who would have thought my husband would break out in a Bobs and Lolos song while removing a spider from inside the house, or I would use their tunes to prompt more recycling with our kids.
Whatever your music style is, this is something I am sure you will enjoy. Visit their website and hear a few songs for yourself. Tell us which one you like on the comment box and we will put your name into a draw to win a copy of their smash hit DVD.
Standing on my Soapbox,

I received the dvd as a gift for my one year old son this past Christmas and wasn’t sure how he would take to it…but he bops and sways to all their songs. Personally I like the songs because they are catcy (R E C Y C L E, recylce with me!!!!!) and not sugary sweet like so much other children’s music. This is one of a very few items that my son is allowed to watch on TV.
