Bebe Au Lait Product Review
Posted by JB on Thursday Jan 29, 2009
Before I become a mom I was mortified at the site of other women breast feeding in public. I once got in an argument about how rude my sister was, breastfeeding in a restaurant while every around her tried to enjoy their meal. One time I sat on a plane next to a woman breastfeeding and actually got up to find a different seat.
Pre-kids, I was very insensitive and non-understanding of the basic necessities involved in child rearing. Oblivious, I often boosted how I would never flash my boob to the world just because my baby was crying, nor would I ever plunk myself down in a public place and openly breast feed.
Oh, how we eat our words… I remember the first time I had to feed my son in the parking lot at the grocery store, the waiting room at the doctor’s office, standing in the immigration line at the airport and beside an uncomfortable mid-twenties man on a trans-Atlantic flight. As my own embarrassment subsided and the mother in me grew, breastfeeding wherever, whenever quickly took over.
No longer naive, I happily embraced the joy of breastfeeding and found BEBE AU LAIT nursing covers made those impromptu or unscheduled feeds more comfortable for me, my baby and the strangers around me. Designed for chic and fashionable moms, these covers feature a rigid neckline so Mom and only Mom can see what baby is doing. Optimum for discrete feeding or pumping sessions, you will never again feel exposed while your little one gets what they need. In amazing prints and colorful styles, one will easily meet your fancy. They are washable, wearable, and did I mention, fashionable.
These multi-purpose covers can also be used as a sun shade in the stroller, or a light-weight blanket while traveling. We used ours as a spontaneous picnic blanket one day at the beach. Moms are just so resourceful.
For those of you who swear by organic, Bebe Au Lait offers a complete range in 100% organic cotton and 100% organic linen. They are simply the perfect item for anyone breast feeding or a mother-to-be. We are happy to have a nursing cover courtesy of Bebe Au Lait to offer one lucky Soapbox reader. All you have to do is visit their site and then leave a comment here, telling us your favorite pattern. (Just a reminder, we can only contact you if you leave an official e-mail address).
Good luck.
Standing on my Soapbox,
JB

Every now and then I’m tempted to congratulate a mom for breastfeeding in public, but I figure they might be uncomfortable by my comments so I just smile instead. Glad you found the other side.

I nursed my son for 14 months until he weaned himself and I never used a nursing cover and ended up going to the bathroom to nurse. I hated it and would have loved to been able to nurse him in a restaraunt or somewhere in public without it being a big deal. My favorite was the Bebe au Lait Yoko Nursing Cover and since we are trying to conceive right now this would be great for our next one!
