Bebe Au Lait Product Review

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Before I become a mom I was mortified at the site of other women breast feeding in public. I once got in an argument about how rude my sister was, breastfeeding in a restaurant while every around her tried to enjoy their meal. One time I sat on a plane next to a woman breastfeeding [...]

Leapfrog Product Review

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

This Christmas, my children received a plethora of toys from friends and family members. There were dolls, race cars, games, paint sets, robots, and more. Many were of the latest trends with images from spooky movies or obnoxious cartoons. Some were new-age toys made from everything natural, others were things I had never seen and [...]

Natural Pod

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

It’s always fun to see your child develop a favorite toy. Watching them gravitate towards the same thing time and time again is comforting, seeing them excited and thrilled to play with it over and over is endearing and sweet.
Recently my one year old is all about playing with her sticking rings by Natural Pod.
These [...]

My First Period Kit

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

For every woman it is different, some have a few months, others can go almost a full year, but every woman I know has had the joy of NOT having her period those blessed month after childbirth. I was lucky to go without for 11 months with both my kids. Include the nine months I was pregnant, and it was a year and a half of blissful, period-free existence.

I do though; remember the first day I got my period or “friend” as I used to call it. I was in grade six and a boy at recess made fun of my by saying that I sat in something disgusting. Embarrassed, I ran to the bathroom, followed by a flock of my friends. I locked myself in a toilet stall and pulled down my pants to find what looked like a floodgate of bright red blood. Four of my friend’s curious heads popped over the top of the stall to see what had happened, and in seconds the news traveled to all in my class that I had got my period.

The Price of Children

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Recently, I received an e-mail from a friend that outlined the cost of raising a child.  I have in the past seen various breakdowns, summarizing of the expense of raising children, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way.
The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from [...]

You Know You Are A Mom When…

Friday, January 9th, 2009

You know you are a mom when every one of your sentences are filled with double words. Do you want more yum yums? Da-Da wants big kiss before night-night.  Careful, hot, hot.  Such a big girl, girl. Did you get a boo-boo? And my favourite: Ma-Ma loves you.
Standing on my soap box,

JB
